Pink Penguin Patchwork Drawstring Bag

My mother-in-law's birthday is tomorrow. I wanted to do something nice for her. So I made this adorable patchwork drawstring bag. The tutorial is on this site (along with many other fabulous tutorials). The polkadot fabric on the right (with the pink background) was sent to me by the author of the Pink Penguin blog when I ordered some of these adorable handmade stamps from Japan.

It is reversable. I used the same fabric on the inside that I used on my tabletop ironing board.
I love the Pink Penguin's tutorials so much. So perfect for gift giving.
We filled it with her favorite candy.

I think she'll like it.

  1. That's such a nice bag!!
I'm sure she'll love it, a drawstring bag is always useful, and filled with candy is a big treat!

  2. pili,
thanks so much for always commenting! I love it :)

  3. Hi! I just stumbled on your blog from the Multiples and More Blog Network. I feel like you're a kindred spirit. Twins and sewing! I love your fabric choices and all your fun projects :D

  4. It turned out really cute. I also just saw the ironing pad thing on your last post. Ever since we got together when you were making one, I have wanted to make one. I think I will, then I can put my huge ironing board away out of sight. Your stuff turns out cute. Very talented you are.

  5. I absolutely love it! I just spent the last little while looking at your different posts--you are an amazing seamstress! So much fun. :)
